Defender Outreach Print E-mail

Defender LogoWe toss aside "disposable" items and, unfortunately, this includes people. Life is already hard and we only complicate it when we view children and widows and widowers as a "problem" and not as individuals with particular needs. Fortunately, God does not view us as a problem but, rather, as individuals with needs to be met. God meets those needs first at the Cross of His Son, Jesus, and then through the power of His Spirit as we walk humbly with Him in love.

Angel Tree

What is Angel Tree?

It Starts with a Gift… It Leads to lives transformed by Christ

Angel Tree LogoRight now, an estimated 1.5 million children have a mom or dad in prison. The number is huge – but so is the opportunity. Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other. In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.”

Old DominionAngel Tree is the annual signature outreach event for 2nd Thief Ministries. On December 12th, 2009, we once again partnered with Old Dominion Baptist Church, located in Bristow VA to put on an Angel Tree party for the children and their families.  We had over 30 children located around the Northern, VA area and the ministry and the families had a wonderful time together.  We will be planning for the 2010 Angel Tree Party towards the end of the Summer.  If you would like to be a part of this great event by helping with the party or sponsoring a child please contact LeaAnn Fritsch at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
